I always fancied being in the movies – did I really want to star in my own version of Private Benjamin? I must be mad (some would certainly testify to that).

I’ve read the profiles of some of my fellow participants and I can testify that I am definitely not a fitness fanatic, nor a superwoman just the very opposite! But, I am going to work on my attributes (hmm I will have to think of them!!!) and throw caution to the wind and take on this amazing personal challenge for myself. I hope my quick wit and sheer lack of knowledge of what is ahead will help me get through. As a professional fundraiser and event organiser, it will also be very nice to participate rather than organise - somewhat a busman’s holiday albeit not 5 star!!!!

I am also particularly motivated to participate in this challenge as I wanted, in some small way, to help the children have a better life, something that can be done and was very evident when I recently visited an Emunah Care Centre in Jerusalem.

So, if I survive (???) I will have achieved an enormous feat for myself, perhaps benefiting from being a little slimmer and fitter, and will have also hopefully contributed to making a difference to those lovely children.
